Homemade Pizza & Garlic Bread Recipe

We have spent the last 6 months perfecting this pizza, we've had soggy bottoms and cheese covered ovens and happy dances when it came out perfect! 

Today we are sharing our recipe for homemade pizza and garlic bread, the base is vegan so you can switch the toppings out for vegan cheese or leave it off for a healthier version.

Dough ingredients (per pizza):

  • 75g each flour per pizza

  • 4g dried yeast

  • 1/2 tbsp salt

  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil

  • 75-110ml of warm water

Pizza Toppings:

  • 1 tbsp tomato puree

  • 1 crushed garlic clove

  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil

  • few springs of fresh thyme

  • garlic and herb salt

  • Mozzarella

  • Hard grated mozzarella

  • Sundried tomatoes

  • Fresh Basil

Garlic Bread:

  • 1 tbsp garlic puree

  • 1 crushed garlic clove

Method:

For the dough:

  1. Add the flour to a big bowl

  2. Add your yeast to one side of the bowl and your salt to the other

  3. Make a well in the middle and pour in 75ml of your water

  4. Mix using a wooden spoon, slowly pour in your olive oil, gradually add the rest of the water as it becomes sticky.

  5. Use your hands to finish combining

  6. Dust a surface with flour and get kneading, it should take around 5-10 minutes 

  7. Drizzle a bowl with olive oil and pop in your dough, cover with a damp tea towel and leave tor rise for 25-30 minutes, it should have almost doubled in size.

  8. Once its risen, knead a few times to know the air out.

  9. Divide your dough up and roll it out, place it on a piece of parchment paper and add your toppings

For the Pizza:

  1. Add your tomato puree, crushed garlic, thyme, Italian herbs and olive oil to a bowl and mix well.

  2. Spread it evenly across the whole pizza, right to the edges

  3. Add a sprinkling of hard cheese, your mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, a sprinkle of herbs and a drizzle of olive oil.

  4. Add to the oven at 190°C (preheated) and check after 10 minutes, keep checking ever 2 minutes as they cook quickly.

 

For the Garlic Bread:

  1. Add your garlic puree and crushed garlic to a bowl

  2. Spread it evenly across the whole pizza, right to the edges

  3. Add a sprinkling of hard cheese, your mozzarella, a sprinkle of herbs and a drizzle of olive oil.

  4. Add to the oven at 190°C (preheated) and check after 10 minutes, keep checking ever 2 minutes as they cook quickly.

Serve on big rustic boards and enjoy as a family!
