Pampas Grass Tablescape

9th December 2019

Pampas grass is one of my absolute favourites, around here it grows everywhere, from parks, to roadsides to gardens! We won't talk about its dirty past, we will just move forwards and bask in another 70's revival...

I would highly recommend foraging for pampas grass, perhaps wait for a dry day or a few dry days so the grass has had time to dry out. Be prepared for it to seed as it dries. I have been know in unorganised pampas grass emergencies to actually dry it with a hair dryer...oh my the seed heads! It comes off like blowing a dandelion, imagine doing that to 50 with a hair dryer! I still had tones left on afterwards so disaster averted!

I adore how they look with dark rustic woods and gold tones... here we laid the grasses across the centre of a dark rustic table, this one was made by us, it lives against a wall so we created a focal point with big light up stars [aff] at the back.

Its so important to add height to styled tables  we have used these vintage candelabras with gold candles, they can be turned flat to the wall or the length of the table depending on where you place them.

We have used white textured plates to keep it calm and used gold cutlery and gold rimmed glasses to keep a slightly modern edge, these little elements take the tablescape into a modern rustic vibe perfectly.
